Join OCPF at this lecture by Aaron Anderson, Pesticide Program Specialist from the Xerces Society."Protecting Pollinators from Pesticides"
Populations of many pollinator species are declining, but our residential landscapes can play an important role in their conservation, as yards and parks are able to provide habitat for these species. We will talk about how to provide year-round pollinator habitat, discuss the risks pesticides pose to invertebrates in towns and cities, and learn tips to protect your garden habitat from contamination.
About Aaron Anderson:
Aaron Anderson works with the public and Xerces staff to reduce pesticide use in residential landscapes, including promoting alternative pest control measures and pollinator-friendly gardening practices. Prior to joining Xerces in 2022, he researched pollinator conservation in urban landscapes, restored habitat for several endangered butterfly species, and worked in insect biocontrol. Aaron has a PhD from Oregon State University, and lives in Portland, OR.
Parking is available at the VFW and along High Street. Park by the elevator and enjoy a short, scenic walk down the promenade to the building!
