Wîwîp’son: The Healing Swing is a short documentary featuring Dr. Darlene Auger, Dr. Kelvin Jones, and Ty "the NeuroGuy" McKinny, Ph.D., about a 2021 study on Wîwîp’son healing swing therapy. Dr. Darlene Auger, who leads this therapeutic ceremony, shares what inspired her to share this knowledge and help people heal from trauma.
The short documentary aims to start a conversation about Indigenous healing methods and the need to invest more research into Indigenous practices to confirm what Indigenous people have been saying for generations. This healing therapy practice started over 10 years ago when Dr. Darlene Auger had a vision during a ceremony for children in Residential Schools that people could be swung to bring about healing ❤️‍🩹
