Wylde Christmas Market and Wild Hunt Procession
Known across cultures as a surreal parade of spirits, beasts, and magical wanderers, The Wild Hunt is said to ride out between Samhain and Yule—that liminal time when days grow short, winds bite colder, and the veil between worlds thins.
For a second year, Art 120, in partnership with River City Company invites the community to help conjure Chattanooga's own Wild Hunt. As twilight descends, fantastical beings will take to the streets, weaving through the shadows of Patten Square. And when the night ends, these mysterious figures may even scatter across the city… leaving a trail of winter mischief behind them.
Inspired by old-world European winter festivals, the Wylde Christmas Market fills Patten Square with stalls of curious crafts, strange delights, and seasonal mischief from local makers and artists. Guests can enjoy live music, European street eats, and peculiar pastimes as the night unfolds. Dress warm, bring your sense of wonder, and don't come alone… you never know what (or who) you'll find.
To prepare for the evening, Art 120 is hosting a series of free public workshops leading up to the market, guiding participants in costume-making, exploring ancient lore, and crafting their otherworldly personas.
