About this Event

An evening, held with care

This is an invitation to slow down, and to come home — to your body, your breath, and your Self.

We spend so much of our lives scattered: rushing, achieving, holding it together for everyone else. This evening is a chance to put that down, even briefly, and simply be met — by the people holding the space, by live music made just for you, and by the quiet, old ground of Hestercombe itself.

There's nothing to share, nothing to perform, and nothing to get right. Just three hours to rest, feel, and reconnect with the parts of yourself that don't get much room in ordinary life.

Why Hestercombe

Some places simply hold you differently. Hestercombe's gardens have been tended, walked and loved for centuries — there's a settledness in the ground here, a sense of being held by something much older and steadier than the pace of daily life. We wanted an evening like this to happen somewhere that could meet the depth of the experience — grounds beautiful enough, and grounded enough, to do some of the work alongside us.

What to expect

From the moment you arrive, you'll be welcomed into a warm, held space where you don't have to do anything alone. We'll begin together, gently settling into the Orangery or gardens with mats and cushions, allowing ourselves to slow down, arrive in our bodies and connect with the people around us.

You'll be guided throughout the evening — through moments of rest, playful exploration, imagination and connection. There is no expectation to perform, share or have the right words. You can simply be part of the group and follow what feels right for you.

We'll gently turn our attention inwards through a guided exercise using active imagination. Together, we'll explore the different parts of ourselves that have been protected, hidden away or left behind along the way — and begin to welcome them home.

There'll be opportunities to explore this playfully and creatively in small groups, discovering what emerges when we give ourselves permission to reconnect with parts of us we may have lost touch with or want a stronger connection with.

Throughout the evening, live music created in response to the group will move alongside us — not a playlist, and not a performance at you, but sound shaped around what is actually happening in the room.

This isn't about fixing what's wrong with you.

It's about what comes after surviving.

About remembering how to play, how to rest, how to feel, how to be curious again.

About finding the pieces of yourself that got lost along the way — and beginning to bring them home.

Held by
