🌟BRIEF DESCRIPTION: 

Ski & Chocolate Soiree – A Galentine’s Day Celebration

Join me on February 12, 2025, at the UM Golf Course for a low key evening of cross-country skiing, connection, and chocolate! Starting at 5:30 PM, we’ll kick off with a lap around the course. Whether you’re a Nordic skier (like me), a skate skier, or prefer walking with snowshoes or ice trekkers, this event is for all levels. We will all be in the same area so we can divide up into groups so everyone can attend.

We will start the ski at sunset and finish under the light of the full moon. After the ski, we’ll gather in the parking lot for chocolate fondue (made on my Jetboil…wish me luck), hot cocoa, and Valentine’s treats. Bring a chair, warm layers, and any snacks you’d like to share. Also, and most importantly, if you have a favorite mulled wine recipe, we’d love to try it! 

If snow conditions don’t cooperate, we’ll adjust plans to an ice trekker hike or a different trail—updates will be shared in our private Facebook group chat. This is your chance to celebrate Galentine’s Day in a fun and welcoming way. Hope to see you there!

🌟LIABILITY WAIVER: Just a quick friendly reminder that it is required to sign the e-waiver before attending your first Women Who Explore event. Please sign on an annual basis. Women Who Explore Waiver

Due to local guidelines and regulations, Women Who Explore will be limiting the  number of attendees per event. Each member attending the event will be  required to register through Eventbrite.  

In the event you successfully register, and then are unable to attend, please  release the ticket so that another member may attend. If you have any questions,  please feel free to contact Hauna directly! 

🌟WHAT TO BRING: 

• Cross country skis, boots, and poles
• • Optional: hiking boots with ice trekkers/snowshoes
• Headlamp
• Water 
• Warm layers of clothing (gloves, beanie, jacket, vest)
• Chair
• Optional: snacks to share
• To go mug for a warm drink 

** PLEASE NOTE: Ambassadors are not wilderness first aid certified. This is a  casual get together for shared outdoor enthusiasts. Safety is a top priority; please  plan accordingly and bring any personal items you may need. (For example: trekking poles, inhaler, sunscreen, chapstick, medications, etc.)** 

🌟EVENT GUIDELINES: 

By registering for this event, participants agree to abide by the guidelines set  forth by Women Who Explore which include:

• Practice self-awareness and do not attend if you have had any flu-like  symptoms, exposed to or have tested positive for Covid in the last 14 days.
• Post-event: Anyone who develops flu-like symptoms within 14 days after joining an event should contact the ambassador and Women Who Explore at [email protected]. 

🌟CANCELLATION POLICY: If you are registering for one of our group events, we ask that you are 100% committed to attending when you register. If you reserve a spot and are unable to attend, please cancel as soon as possible on Eventbrite. We ask that you try to cancel a minimum of 3 days prior to the day of the event as this allows other women who would like to attend the ability to plan to join us.
