WUSF Jazz Presents: Jazz on the Block

WUSF is proud to present Jazz on the Block: a Celebration of Live Local Jazz, a vibrant community event hosted at Suite E Studios in St. Petersburg. This free, five‑hour celebration of music and culture will take place from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM on Saturday, May 9, 2026 coinciding with Second Saturday Art Walk in the Warehouse Arts District in downtown St. Petersburg, Florida. This show is designed to bring a fresh, modern energy to the local jazz scene.

This special evening will feature:

• Four live jazz ensembles, each showcasing talented young musicians
• Interactive Q&A sessions with each band
• Meet & Greets
• A welcoming, accessible atmosphere aimed at introducing younger audiences to jazz

Jazz at WUSF’s mission is to make jazz accessible, engaging, and exciting for the next generation. By highlighting emerging artists and creating opportunities for direct audience interaction, we hope to spark renewed interest in one of America’s most meaningful musical art forms.
