Wukong is an international student who studies abroad,and his parents have some expectations of him.Fresh fromAvignon Off and selected for Chinese Culture Week at theEdinburgh Festival Fringe, Wukong and Kong present a grand,universally resonant Oriental fable, an inventive Metamorph-osis of Asians.Reimagining Journey to the West, the show turnsthelegendary Golden Hoop into a metaphor for overwhelmingparental expectations. This high-energy comedy cleverly fusestraditional Chinese shadow puppetry, digital projections, elec-tronic soundscapes, and immersivelive interaction. In a dazzlingcollision of myth and modern reality, the Wukong family invites youinto a hilarious, deeply moving adventure navigating love,boundaries,and growing together amidst laughter.
