The West Terre Haute Youth League would like to show its appreciation to the players and families with an end of season celebration at the ballpark! This celebration is for all WTHYL Players (Tee ball, Coach Pitch, Minor, and Major). The award ceremonies will be for Major, Minor, and Coach Pitch. Awards will be for first place teams for regular season and tournament champions. MVP and Character Awards will be given to two players from each league excluding Tee Ball. Tee Ballers received their medallions at their last game; if they did not, please check with your child’s tee ball coach prior to this event. Each WTHYL player will be provided a ticket for a free hot dog and soft drink for the Concession Stand, as well as a ticket for a free shaved ice from EZ Shaved Ice. Check-in for food and shaved ice tickets will be located under the pavilion next to the Minor/Major Field.
Baseball-themed carnival games will take place on the Tee Ball Field throughout the event. Face painting will be offered in the pavilion next to the Concession Stand. Beginning at 6:45 PM, “Pitch Speed” will take place on the Minor/Major Field; if you’ve ever wondered about the speed of your pitch, this is the night to clock it!
At 7:00 PM, the Homerun Derby will begin on the Coach Pitch Field. This is open to all Minor/Major League players. Sign-ups will take place under the pavilion, next to the Minor/Major Field. Pre-registration is available for Homerun Derby and will be posted to the Facebook Page closer to the celebration. Players will need a bat and Coach Pitch players are welcome to bring a glove and shag balls during the Homerun Derby! Two winners (one Minor and one Major) will be announced at 7:45 PM!
