WTF: Work That Face

An often forgotten part of choreography, this workshop is all about face, face, face!

With a background in professional wrestling, directing, drag and burlesque, Numi will teach you how to serve looks and elevate your burlesque toolbox. This class will teach you to elevate your performance, tap deeper into your character and of course, leave audiences saying wtf. Starting with gentle body and facial warm-up, we’ll focus on mouth shapes, lipsyncing, emotions and improv.

Bring the drama, bring the subtly and learn how to drive narrative using your face.

The workshop will take place at Miles Zero Dance Society, located at 9931 78 Ave NW, Edmonton, AB T6E 1N6. We’ll be gathering on October 25, 2026, from 12:00 pm to around 1:00 pm. Please plan to arrive 15 minutes early to get settled and sign in. All participants must register in advance, and attendance is capped at 15 people to ensure a focused and supportive environment. Registration is $35 (+fees), and 5 PWYC slots are available, no questions, no judgment, as long as you can make it and enjoy the workshop!

Please note the studio's accessibility features; The main floor has a clear path from the front entrance, and two accessible washrooms are available on this level. The upstairs studio can only be accessed by stairs, though we regret to inform you that it is not wheelchair accessible. We share this information so guests with accessibility needs can plan comfortably.
