About the Artists:
Lucy Kaplansky, an acclaimed singer and songwriter, has been a defining voice in contemporary folk music for decades, and "a truly gifted performer with a bag full of enchanting songs" (The New Yorker). She recently released her tenth solo album, The Lucy Story, a two-CD retrospective spanning her musical journey from her teenage years to major venues across the U.S. and Europe. National Public Radio's Scott Simon recently described her music as "utterly beautiful and affecting...Lucy sings song from her life with resonance in ours".
Lucy was part of folk supergroup Cry Cry Cry with Dar Williams and Richard Shindell, and has been features on NPR's All Things Considered, Weekend Edition, and Morning Edition along with BBC Radio 2 and 4, and CBS Sunday Morning. Kaplansky continues to tour, bringing her captivating live performances to audiences nationwide.

Their music draws on traditional folk roots while feeling distinctly modern, making them a perfect opener for an evening under the summer sky.
Led by John Lennon Award-winning songwriter Rachel Sumner, Rachel Sumner & Traveling Light features lush three-part harmony, sharp songwriting, and high-energy stringband musicianship. On this run of shows, Rachel is joined by fiddler Jacqui Armbruster and bassist Karl Henry.
