In this workshop, you'll be lead through what ‘thrutopia’ is and asked to activate your curiosity to exercise the imaginative muscles of optimism and joy. You'll be shown how thrutopian poems can guide transformation as you discover new thrutopian forms and techniques. The session will be focussed on re-shaping poetry that’s grounded in the realities of the climate crisis and shows what’s possible when we trust the precious web of life on Earth.
You’ll also receive an ‘Introduction to Thrutopia’ workbook and pack of prompts for self-study to continue after the workshop. We encourage you to submit your finished thrutopian poems to Bending The Arc magazine.
Alice Willitts is a poet and plantswoman from the Fens with a stubborn optimism about the future. She believes in putting hope into action: co-launching , co-creating DIRT plantable poetry and is the author of six books including (Blue Diode) out now. www.alicewillittspoet.uk.
