Wellness + Art + Vision (WAV): A FF Creative, Multigenerational, Healing Art Space for Black Communities. Curated by Angela BJ & Sunshine
About this Event

Wellness + Art + Vision (WAV) is a fragrance-free, culturally rooted, multigenerational creative healing space designed intentionally for Black communities in Oregon.

✨IN APRIL WE'RE CELEBRATING NATIONAL POETRY MONTH! 🫰🏽🫰🏿🫰🏼🫰🏾✨

WAV centers wellness as both personal restoration and collective liberation. In April, we will focus on ENVISIONING, WRITING & SPEAKING WORDS THAT PROMOTE OUR HEALING, GOALS & DREAMS, and that nurtures healing, imagination, future-building, and Black Joy.

This is not just an art event.
This is a breathable, affirming space where Black bodies, stories, dreams, creativity, and Black Joy are welcomed and honored.

Whether you are:

  • A creative seeking inspiration
  • An elder carrying wisdom
  • A young visionary building your future
  • A family longing for safe, affirming space
  • Or someone simply needing room to breathe

WAV is for you.

✨ What to Expect
  • Guided creative visioning activities
  • Multigenerational art experiences
  • Reflection, poetry and storytelling
  • Community connection
  • Intentional fragrance-free environment
  • Space to imagine healing futures rooted in Black Joy — together

No artistic experience is required — just come as you are, create in your own way or just join us to BE and connect with community.

🌺 Fragrance-Free Commitment

To ensure accessibility for community members with asthma, chemical sensitivities, and invisible disabilities, this is a low-to-no fragrance event. We kindly ask all participants to refrain from wearing perfumes, colognes, strong essential oils, or heavily scented products.

Breath is sacred. Access is love.

🌊 Why WAV: Wellness + Art + Vision Workshops?

Because healing is communal.
Because art is resistance.
Because vision is strategy.
Because Black Joy is medicine.

WAV is an invitation to gather, create, reflect, and build toward collective wellness — together, in breath, in beauty, and in Black Joy.
