Curious about creative non-fiction writing? This workshop is for you! Join us on Saturday May 9 from 1-2:30PM in the library Board Room.
In this workshop, award-winning author Rosanna Micelotta Battigelli will share her tips and techniques when writing creative non-fiction. Using concrete examples from her collection Product of Italy, Made in Canada: An Immigrant’s Love Letter to Food, Family, and Resilience, Rosanna will describe ways of making your personal stories resonate with readers. Using literary devices such as character-building, dialogue, imagery, language use, humour, atmosphere and mood, etc., participants will learn how to make their personal stories memorable and impactful. Whether writing to preserve your family stories and heritage, or to process events in your life, this workshop will inspire you to have confidence and write your own story or stories. Handouts will be provided.
