The John G. McCullough Free Library and Prospect Street have teamed up with author Genevieve Plunkett to offer "Writing Outside Our Limitations", a series of writing workshops for adults held throughout a single weekend. There are infinite ways to tell a story, and seemingly infinite ways to get stuck. As writers we may think that we need more time, more discipline, or more guidance, when what we really need is just permission. In this workshop we will read excerpts from great writers who did things a little differently. Whether it's a subtle narrative shift or a bold departure from the norm, let's find reasons to say, "I didn't know I could do that!"
Workshop Schedule:
Friday, November 21st from 2:30 PM - 5:00 PM;
Saturday, November 22nd from 9:30 AM - 12:00 PM AND 1:00 PM - 2:30 PM
Sunday, November 23rd from 9:30 AM - 12:00 PM.
Participants are expected to attend all four sessions.

Workshop host Genevieve Plunkett is the author of IN THE LOBBY OF THE DREAM HOTEL and the story collection PREPARE HER. A recipient of an O. Henry Award and The Andrew Lytle Prize, her short fiction can be found in The Sewanee Review, New England Review, Southern Review, and Electric Literature. Her second novel is forthcoming from Feminist Press.
