Frequency: Every other week
Day/Time: Mondays, 5:30-6:30pm
Where: UU Parlor Room
What:
The intention of this group is to explore writing as a mindfulness practice, using Natalie Goldberg's classic Writing Down the Bones as a guide. Each time we meet, we'll practice together with 10-minute exercises, sharing, and meditation.
Participation is open to 6-8 people. You don't have to be a creative writer or have the book or anything else to participate. We'll just ask that you bring a pen and a simple notebook to each session.
At the end of the 12 weeks, we'll evaluate where we are and decide together our next steps.
Leader Bio:
Amy-Sarah Marshall, who received her MFA in Creative Writing/Poetry at George Mason University, where she taught creative writing, has published in a number of poetry journals over the years as well as a chapbook, A-Drift. She’s been practicing meditation and writing - both - for over 30 years. Currently, Amy-Sarah volunteers as a meditation leader with IMCC and participates in the teaching training program.
