I have been discussing a potential education program for a homeschooling group and they had this date available! I would ask that whoever thinks they may want to attend confirm with me on how many in their party, adults and kids, ages of kids and whether or not you will be using a strolling device, as I need all this info within the next couple of weeks in order to do a final confirmation with her a month before the date so she can get everything set up on her end.
The one and a half hour program will include a brief intro to the site and its history and then a hike with some nature topic that I have asked for their advice/insight into what to discuss they think would be suitable,then a visit to the barn to explore more about farm life and more nature hands-on activities
They will break kid groups up into max of 10 kids per guide and also by age they think it's appropriate to break them into. I did ask ahead about parents bringing younger children and that is fine with them and they can accommodate the younger kids going in a group but also stressed to me to make sure that parents who want to go on the trails outside of the paved one understand strollers are not permissible on those trails and they should plan on wearing a carrier/backpack for their child. There will be a paved trail they can offer for those using strolling devices and others who aren't, that group will go on a different trail, as they have informed me the other trails are not accessible for strolling devices.
The charge for every attendee, kids and adults alike, will be $5 and we can pay via cash or check upon arrival or if people prefer to Venmo me and I will pay for their portion, that's fine with me too. She also advised me that they discourage picnicking there because of the wildlife; so I thought maybe anyone who is interested afterward we can go to a local playground/park and bring lunch to have or people can just break off and call it a day; whatever works best for your fam!
