Writers Workshop for Kids | Superpowers & Secret Plans: Writing Heroes and Villains

Every great adventure needs two things: a hero to save the day and a villain with a clever plan. In this action-packed writing workshop, young writers will invent their own unforgettable heroes and devious villains -- complete with superpowers, weaknesses, secret hideouts, and big personalities. Once the characters are created, students will put them to the test by writing an exciting adventure story where the hero must face the villain's plan. By the end of the class, each student will have the beginning of their own heroic tale!

About the Teaching Artist:
Shelly Nosbisch is a local cozy mystery author. Shelly is living her best life when she’s teaching writing as well. She is a teaching artist with Nebraska Writers Collective, teaching spoken word poetry, micro fiction, and novel writing. She adores coaching teens in All Writes Reserved, a spoken word poetry festival. A voracious reader, Shelly can often be found wandering the stacks at the local library so she can afford her reading habit.
