In this NEW programming series, published authors lead participants through prompts and editing sessions.
The goal of each workshop is to generate and hone writing from various genres (fiction, nonfiction, poetry, essay, hybrid).

Matthew Gavin Frank, author of "Flight of the Diamond Smugglers", "Preparing the Ghost", and "Submersed" is an award-winning lyric essayist and poet who will guide participants through the art of writing with curiosity and boldness
Wednesday, October 22, 2025. 12:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. in the Shiras Room. Keith Taylor, author of "Ecstatic Destinations" and "What Can The Matter Be?" is a Michigan Notable Book Award winner and a seasoned poet whose work captures the essence of the natural world. Learn how he crafts verse that resonates deeply.
November 10, 2025. 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., in the Shiras Room. Kathleen Heideman is an award-winning poet and environmental advocate, she uses language to explore landscapes, justice, and activism. Discover how she brings voice to the places and causes she loves.
