Join us for a practical writing workshop on creating queer stories and characters this Pride Month. Whether you’re exploring identity, romance or richly imagined worlds, you’ll learn how to create nuanced LGBTQIA+ characters, avoid common tropes and write with confidence and care.
Perfect for emerging and experienced writers alike, this session offers practical tools, creative prompts and a supportive space to develop stories that reflect the diversity of real lives and experiences.
This session will be led by internationally bestselling author Cale Dietrich. Cale is the author of several queer young adult books, including , and (co-written with Sophie Gonzales). His books have received multiple starred reviews, been featured in Entertainment Weekly and Writer's Digest, and appeared on the Rainbow List.
Cale is a YA devotee, lifelong gamer and tragic pop punk enthusiast. He is passionate about the need for authentic and affirming queer representation in YA literature.
