About this Event
HEALTH & SAFETY: WE ASK THAT YOU PLEASE WEAR A FACE MASK WHILE INDOORS FOR OUR EVENTS. THANK YOU.
Writing is not easy. Writing a speech can be really tough. Any professional speech writer will agree. Writing a funny speech for a family or friend's event can be the toughest kind of writing there is. Listening to speeches can be the best part of any celebration-- or, as we've seen in countless tv shows and movies, it can be cringeworthy.
Comedian and award-winning television writer (Hacks! Curb Your Enthusiasm! Modern Family! The Larry Sanders Show! Seinfeld!) Carol Leifer takes you step by step into crafting a speech that you'll be proud of, that people will listen to, and will laugh at as well. In How to Write a Funny Speech..., Carol and co-author, standup writer Rick Mitchell provide us with speaking tips that are as funny as they are practical. And their practical tips will serve you as you sit down to write just about anything. Carol has written for SNL, The Oscars, and some of the best shows in memory. Did we mention Seinfeld? Curb? Hacks?
Henry Winkler is not only funny, but has earned the reputation of being a beloved mensch. As the Fonz on the hit sitcom Happy Days, Henry Winkler became one of the most identifiable and imitated characters in pop culture. His role as the acting teacher in the HBO series Barry resulted in annual Emmy awards and nominations. In the years between The Fonz and Barry, Winkler has directed and produced and appeared in countless shows, and wrote a best-selling memoir, Being Henry: The Fonz...and Beyond.
Limited parking onsite. We recommend rideshares and carpooling. Please allow time to find parking.
