Writers at Work: A Bookends University Book Club

Writers at Work is an in-person book club dedicated to the craft of writing. ALL writers are welcome, from the experienced professional to the nervous beginner and everyone in between. Join us for inspiration, community, and a hands-on exploration of some of the most interesting and exciting books about writing that are out there today.

This month's book will be Melissa Febos's national bestseller . Discussion will be led by author Megan Stielstra.

The meeting will include an optional happy hour, with time to mix and mingle, get a drink from the Mini Bar, and do a little browsing or book buying. Happy hour will be followed by ninety minutes of book discussion and guided, no-pressure writing prompts. You may leave with the start of a new story, essay, or poem!

Tuition includes a copy of the book. You can pick up your book at the store or have it mailed to you.

Megan Stielstra is the author of three collections: , , and . Her work appears in the Best American Essays, New York Times, The Believer, Poets & Writers, Tin House, and on National Public Radio. She teaches creative nonfiction at Northwestern University and is a senior acquiring editor with Northwestern University Press.
