A spoken word open mic, open to everyone. at the incredible Storyhouse in Chester - Garret Theatre
There are no Guest Poets, No Headliners. Everyone gets 4-5 minutes to share their words. In a friendly, supportive, positive atmosphere.
Whatever your ability, or your style, we are open to everyon.
We have some rules, which are all pretty straight forward.
Rule 1- if you turn up to read, you stay to the end (unless there is a really really good reason obviously)
Rule 2 - no punching down, you can be rude, you can say what you think - it is an adult crowd after all. But... nothing that does not support a diverse and equal community.
Rule 3 - 4 -5 minutes maximum, everyone gets the same time
Rule 4 - support everyone who reads out, even if you don't like it... standing up and reading out takes courage, so respect that
Rule 5 - it is a listening event, while someone is on stage talking, you don't.
