We are inviting you to join us at Wrexham Football Club on Thursday 10th October, to take part in our ‘WrexFactor’ community ideas event, and help to shape the vision and plans which can transform Wrexham City Centre, over the next 10 years and beyond.
Location: Wrexham AFC Centenary Club, Mold Road, Wrexham, LL11 2AH
What to expect
Through the event, over the course of 3-hours (joining either our afternoon session from 1pm – 4pm or our evening session from 5.30pm – 8.30pm), you will work as part of a team to:
1. Reflect on what makes Wrexham City Centre a special place for you, the challenges we need to overcome, and the opportunities we must take if the city is to fulfil its potential.
2. Develop ideas for ambitious but achievable projects, which could be delivered in Wrexham and make a real and lasting difference to people’s experience of the City Centre.
3. Pitch these ideas to a panel of experts from across the country, who will be offering their feedback, guidance and encouragement throughout.
The ideas generated though the WrexFactor will directly inform the in-development investment proposals to be submitted to the UK-Government by the Wrexham City Board.
The WrexFactor is a Wrexham City Board event, being delivered in partnership with Start Something Good at Cwmpas, whose pioneering events have taken place with thousands of people all over the country.
Who is it for?

Who are the Wrexham City Board?
In September 2023, UK Government announced that Wrexham was one of 55 places across the country to receive £20 million funding under a ‘Long-Term Plan for Towns programme’, which will invest in local people’s priorities over a 10-year period. Under the programme ‘Town Boards’ are to be established. Each will prepare a long-term vision and plan, with a primary focus on:
1. Safety and security.
2. High streets, heritage and regeneration.
3. Transport and connectivity.
The ‘Wrexham City Board’ (soon to have a new name) is independently chaired and brings together a range of elected leaders, business and community representatives from all over Wrexham. The board’s vision is ‘A thriving, playful and vibrant Wrexham City Centre’ - and over the next 10 years it will be responsible for investing its £20 million of funding in and around the City Centre to help make this vision a reality.
Central to the board’s success will be working closely with all those who live in, work in, invest in, and visit Wrexham: everyone it is a special place for, and everyone who calls it home.
Through the summer of 2024, over a thousand people helped the Board in their early stages of its thinking by sharing ‘just one thing’ which they felt could change Wrexham City Centre for the better. The WrexFactor is the next step in this journey.

Pwy yw Bwrdd Dinas Wrecsam?
Ym Medi 2023 cyhoeddodd Llywodraeth y DU fod Wrecsam yn un o’r 55 lle yn y wlad i dderbyn cyllid o £20 miliwn o dan ‘raglen y Cynllun Hirdymor ar gyfer Trefi’, a fydd yn buddsoddi mewn blaenoriaethau pobl leol dros gyfnod o 10 mlynedd. O dan y rhaglen bydd ‘Byrddau Trefi’ yn cael eu sefydlu. Bydd pob un yn paratoi gweledigaeth hirdymor a chynllun, gyda’r prif ffocws ar:
1. Ddiogelwch a diogeledd.
2. Y stryd fawr, treftadaeth ac adfywio.
3. Cludiant a chysylltedd.
Mae ‘Bwrdd Tref Wrecsam’ (a fydd yn cael enw newydd cyn bo hir) â chadeirydd annibynnol ac yn dod ag ystod o arweinwyr etholedig, cynrychiolwyr busnes a chymunedol ynghyd o bob cwr o Wrecsam. Gweledigaeth y bwrdd yw ‘Canol Dinas Wrecsam sy’n ffynnu, yn chwareus ac yn fywiog’ - a thros y 10 mlynedd nesaf fe fydd yn gyfrifol am fuddsoddi ei gyllid o £20 miliwn yng Nghanol y Ddinas a’r ardal o gwmpas i helpu i droi’r weledigaeth hon yn realiti.
Bydd gweithio’n agos gyda’r rhai sy’n byw, gweithio, buddsoddi ac ymweld â Wrecsam yn greiddiol i lwyddiant y bwrdd: i bawb y mae’n lle arbennig iddynt a phawb sy’n ei alw’n gartref.
Drwy haf 2024 fe helpodd dros fil o bobl y bwrdd yn y cyfnod cynnar drwy rannu ‘dim ond un peth’ yr oeddent yn teimlo allai newid Canol Dinas Wrecsam er gwell. Y WrecsFfactor yw’r cam nesaf ar y daith hon.
