As part of the Wreckfest Rare Trades Festival, we’re cranking up the excitement with live, interactive performances. Join Aaarrabella the Piratess and her mischievous Pirate Parrot for a thrilling treasure hunt filled with daring escapades and lighthouse legends. Will you uncover the hidden loot? 🏴☠️
For the little adventurers, face painting will be available to transform them into pirates, sailors, or whatever their imaginations can conjure! 🎨 Meet Rose Ann Hyland, the fearless Irish convict and sole survivor of the dramatic Neva Shipwreck. Her chilling tale of survival, recounted by the incredible Lady of History, Janice Haynes, reveals how her courage inspired the creation of the lighthouses that guide sailors today.
The festivities continue with live cane fishing rod demonstrations showcasing traditional techniques. Stroll through stalls featuring traders and food vans, offering everything from smoky BBQ to decadent donuts. Sip refreshing local brews, cider, and wine while tasting locally produced cheese and honey—there’s something to satisfy every palate. Indulge in a delightful Devonshire Tea, complete with freshly baked scones, jam, and cream. ☕🍰
