Join the America’s 250th Norwich CT Committee for a special Wreath Laying Ceremony & Commemoration honoring Samuel Huntington, one of Norwich’s most significant Revolutionary-era figures.
Samuel Huntington was a signer of the Declaration of Independence, President of the United States in Congress Assembled, and Governor of Connecticut. As part of Norwich’s commemoration of the 250th anniversary of American independence, this ceremony will recognize Huntington’s lasting connection to Norwich and his role in the founding of the United States.
The program will begin on Norwichtown Green with a brief public ceremony, including remarks and commemorative reflections. Following the ceremony, a Fife and Drum Corps will lead attendees in a procession to Samuel Huntington’s gravesite for the laying of a wreath in his honor.
This event is free and open to the public. All are welcome to attend and take part in this meaningful commemoration of Norwich’s Revolutionary history.
