We’re excited to be offering another immersive retreat on Awabakal Worimi Country, growing our connections and evolving our explorations.
Through previous retreats we've noticed that being with the land, in the bush and beach changes us, our sense of time, what feels important. Something wakes up in us while the mind calms down.
At Woven, Contact Improvisation is one of our shared languages. It is not a retreat to learn CI, but your CI practice will be expanded and enriched. We welcome people with some experience of CI, who are comfortable to navigate open frames, and curious to explore beyond the walls of the studio.
Some sessions will be in a studio, with others by the sea and in the bush. There will be some jams, solo time, witnessing, amongst other constellations and offers. There will be less CI dancing than focused CI retreats.
This Woven we’ll continue to explore interconnections. We’re curious about finding ourselves, our ground of inner connectedness, and contrasting this with moments where the distinction of leading & following, my body & your body, inner & outer awareness dissolve. We also wonder what might the potential to share weight and structure with the more-than-human world mean.
In facilitating we tune into the group and the land, practicing letting go of plans when we notice a moment is asking for something different.
In small groups and the wider village we’ll find ways in which we are supported and nurtured. We also all have a role in caring for others, the collective and country on our journey together.

COST: $590 Standard
$490 for those with limited income
We welcome any amount above $590 for those who can pay more to support others
Financial hardship: we do not want money to be a barrier to attending, there will be some "pay what you can" places if you are experiencing financial hardship. Please let us know.
MEALS: Includes delicious catered lunch and dinners for 4 days
