Worlds of Work (WoW)

ATTN ALL EMPLOYERS/BUSINESSES: You are cordially invited to participate as an employer at the inaugural Worlds of Work (WoW) event that will be taking place on March 17, 18, and 20, 2025 on Montgomery College’s Rockville Campus! Please view below for more details about this groundbreaking career exploration experience:

Time: 9:00am-1:30pm

Who will be attending: Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) 8th Graders (total of 2,500 students)

What: WoW is an innovative, pilot career exploration event that brings together students, educators, and employers. Designed to bridge the critical gap between academic learning and real-world career opportunities, students will have the unique chance to:

• Engage with industry experts
• Explore diverse career paths
• Participate in hands-on demonstrations ( are some fun ideas!)
• Learn about in-demand skills and emerging industries

Why: As part of the College and Career Readiness pillar of the Blueprint for Maryland’s Future, this event aims to help students understand the connection between education and occupations like never before. By exposing students to various professional worlds, we are helping to nurture local talent and prepare the next generation for success.

The Ask: Employers from all industry clusters (i.e. Healthcare, Hospitality, Construction, etc.) are invited to participate and be a founding champion of this exciting initiative (at no-cost to you)! What are some additional branding perks? All employers will be provided with free advertising via a digital flipbook with an estimated reach of 200,000 community members. Additionally, you can participate in a B2B networking session in person at WoW, as well as virtually via the event app.
