Celebrate World Wildlife Day with us! The event kicks off at 11:00 AM with an introduction to the importance of wildlife conservation and how Waste Connections is making a difference. Then, enjoy an exclusive tour of our on-campus beehives and greenhouses, followed by a build your own terrarium activity. Bring your own glass far for this eco-friendly terrarium activity!

🐝Beehive Tour - Get an upclose look of our campus beehives and our150,000 bees

🌱 Greenhouse Tours – Led by Schmittel’s Nursery and Pattonville High School students

Schmittel’s Nursery: Learn how they operate one of our on-campus greenhouses to grow native plants.

Pattonville High School: Explore our second greenhouse designed as a hands-on classroom for Applied Science students from the neighbouring Pattonville high school. Students will show you their growing work and discuss their hydroponics and aquaponics systems

🍃 Build Your Own Terrarium!
To wrap up the celebration, join us for a fun, eco-friendly activity where you can build your own terrarium! 🌿♻️ Bring your own clean glass jar (such as an empty salsa, jam, or spaghetti jar) to reuse. A limited number of spare jars will be available for those who don’t bring one.
