Celebrate World Wetlands Day by joining us for a guided morning hike through one of our region’s most vital and vibrant ecosystems! It might be winter, but there are still loads to enjoy at Lydick Bog. This program invites participants to explore the rich biodiversity, cultural significance, and essential ecological services that wetlands provide, from water purification and flood control to habitat for countless species.Led by our Engagement Coordinator, Bella, an Indiana Master Naturalist and Certified Interpretive Guide, the hike will highlight seasonal wildlife activity, native plant communities, and the interconnected systems that make wetlands so unique.
Perfect for nature lovers, families, photographers, and anyone curious about the natural world, this hike offers an opportunity to connect with the environment, ask questions, and deepen appreciation for these often-overlooked ecosystems.
Difficulty: Easy to moderate; suitable for most ages. The trail at Lydick Bog varies from gravel paths to moderate trails with stairs and bare roots.
What to Bring: Weather-appropriate clothing, sturdy footwear, water, and curiosity.
Please note that our restrooms are closed for the season, and that this event will take place at 9:30 am Eastern Time. We will meet at the Lydick Bog Pavilion.
