Come celebrate World Water Day 2025 at Slide Rock State Park! Join us, the Oak Creek Watershed Council, and Arizona Water Company for a World Water Day event on Saturday, March 22 from 9:00 am - 1:00 pm. World Water Day is an annual United Nations Observance focusing on the importance of freshwater. At this event, local organizations will provide water education to the public in a fun outdoor setting!
Through hands-on activities, you will get a chance to survey macroinvertebrates in the Oak Creek, learn how water moves underground, and discover how stormwater flows through Sedona! Many other local organizations will be joining the fun so be sure to come prepared to learn.
Upon completing three different event activities, attendees will be entered to win a special prize! For this special event, there will be a food truck on-site for anyone to purchase a meal while visiting the park during the event hours.
Plan ahead and register for the macroinvertebrate survey at https://events.humanitix.com/tiny-wildlife-a-world-water-day-activity-wn48q5gk. Walk-ins are welcome, but spots are limited. We hope to see you there!
NOTE: All ages are welcome. Children younger than the 4th grade level should be accompanied by an adult for the macroinvertebrate survey. We recommend attendees to arrive 15 minutes before the scheduled activity to check in.
