World War II Comes to the Valley

UTC-04:00Location
Blackstone Heritage Corridor Visitor Center at Worcester | Worcester, MA
Join us on Sunday, September 14, as we honor and explore the region’s contributions to the war effort. We'll be partnering with several local museums and reenactors to bring this history to life through exhibits, demonstrations, and storytelling that highlight how the Blackstone Valley served on the home front.
The Blackstone River Valley, spanning 25 towns across Rhode Island and Massachusetts, played a crucial role in America’s wartime efforts during World War II. While other parts of the country took time to shift into wartime production, the industries of the Blackstone Valley quickly adapted—producing essential materials such as wire for jeeps and communication equipment, wool and cotton for uniforms and blankets, rubber for gas masks, and much more.
