For three decades, the World Ski & Snowboard Festival has brought together the people, sports, art, and stories that define mountain culture. In 2026, WSSF celebrates 30 years of legendary moments with a full week of competitions, creativity, film, music, and nightlife across Whistler Village.
By day, the mountains and village come alive with world-class ski and snowboard competitions, creative showdowns, photography and film exhibitions, and community activations.
Festival sports highlights include:
• The Grind Street Style Finals – the grand finale of Snowboard Canada’s cross-country street-style tour featuring elite ski and snowboard athletes in a custom-built course in Skier’s Plaza
• The Pipe Invitational – a style-driven session featuring invited athletes showcasing creativity, flow, and spring riding at its best
• Slush Cup – the fan-favourite pond skim where competitors attempt to skim across an icy slush pit in costumes, with prizes for best trick, best wipe-out, and best costume

Alongside the sports action, WSSF continues its legacy of celebrating mountain creativity with signature multimedia events including:
• Intersection – five crews compete to create the best ski and snowboard film
• 72 Hour Filmmaker Showdown – filmmakers race against the clock to create a short film in just three days
During the Multimedia Shows, the WSSF Basecamp activation takes over the Whistler Conference Centre with partner experiences, skate features and the Pro Photographer Showcase celebrating 30 years of iconic mountain imagery
By night, the festival shifts into high gear. Venues across Whistler host film premieres, live performances, DJ sets, and late-night programming where athletes, artists, industry, and fans all come together.
Whether you're competing, creating, or simply here to celebrate mountain culture, the World Ski & Snowboard Festival is where the community gathers to close out winter in Whistler.
