About this Event
Hosted by NICE (Nashville International Center for Empowerment) and Resonance of the Land, led by artist Raheleh Filsoofi & musician Reza Filsoofi of the NIRMA Project (Nashville Immigrant and Refugee Music & Art).
Two days before World Refugee Day, we are coming together in community to tell stories of resilience and to celebrate the vibrant multicultural contributions that refugees bring to our city. We will showcase music from refugee artists, as well as storytelling about the lived experience of a refugee.
Seating is limited, so please let us know if you will be able to join us!
is a project in Nashville, Tennessee, a hub for diverse immigrant communities. Local clay was mapped, refined, and crafted into 25 instruments inspired by Middle Eastern and North African drums. Through workshops, immigrants and refugees connected with the land, creating and playing these instruments to reflect their experiences and heritage. This initiative fostered community, healing, and celebrated Nashville's multicultural soundscape, enriching the city with the voices of its many inhabitants.
