About this Event
Everything happens for a Riesling - and this July, it’s Germany’s time to shine. From 1 July, we're kicking off 31 Days of German Wine - a full month dedicated to some of the best wines we've ever tasted.
Strangely, Germany is often overlooked by the greater wine-drinking public.But let's be clear: Germany is one of the world’s greatest wine countries, and we’re here to show you why. Maybe it’s the complexity of the country’s 13 regions, or maybe it’s the deliciousness of its wines, something about German wines makes us geeky wine lovers, well, really geek out. Our tasting will focus on the Mosel and Pfalz as we explore wines from Weingut Würtzberg and Weingut Von Winning.
Weingut Wurtzberg is the dynamic sibling duo of Annelena and Felix Heimes, hand-harvesting every grape on impossibly steep slopes that have been producing wine since 1898 - tractors simply wouldn't dare. Then there's Weingut von Winning, a storied estate founded in 1849, now guided by Jana Niederberger - no herbicides, no synthetic fertilisers, no filtering, no fining. Every bottle a winner.
What to expect
At this two-hour tasting, we’ll take you through the icons, the rebels, and the hidden gems of Germany’s wine scene - from the mineral-driven Rieslings of the Mosel to the sophisticated Spätburgunders (Pinot Noir) of the Pfalz.
Our fantastic wine experts will be your guides, pouring seven incredible wines, including a welcome Sekt from Weingut Würtzberg. They will share stories from the winemakers, the secrets of the unique terroirs, and the traditions that make these wines so world-renowned. So whether you’re a die-hard Riesling lover or looking to discover the depth of German reds beyond the supermarket shelves, this event is for you.
If you fall in love with the wines on the night, your ticket also includes a £20 voucher to redeem on the evening towards any case of six wines. Our team will be on hand to arrange it for you.
