Intended to promote cycling awareness and rider safety, the Eighteenth Annual World Naked Bike Ride in New Orleans will be Saturday, June 13, 2026. Riders should assemble starting at 3:00 PM in Mickey Markey Park 700 Piety St., New Orleans, LA, 70117 The ride begins and ends at Mickey Markey park.
Riders are encouraged to join the Facebook Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/135070029863460/ and join the event.
There is street parking. We will have to line up in the staging area (in the street) promptly at 4:00 PM. Everyone who is going to ride must be behind the lead police car and start on time. Please stay behind the lead pedicab, they are setting the pace of the ride. Everyone should arrive at the park starting at 3:00 PM so that everyone can get (un)dressed, painted (if desired), and get ready. All human powered vehicles are welcome: Bikes, skates, skateboards, etc. When you arrive at the park, please move into the park and do not linger in the street.
Only riders are allowed in the assembly area. Like any other parade, friends, family, spectators, photographers and videographers should line the route. There are several good viewing sites along Decatur and Burgundy Streets. Spectators have the opportunity to witness the ride twice by catching it in front of Jackson Square and then walking one block to St. Ann and Charters to catch it again. For photographers, Jean Lafitte National Historical Park and Preserve on Decatur provides an excellent opportunity with scenic Jackson Square and historic St. Louis Cathedral as a backdrop.
Riders should assemble in the park after the ride for the group photo. Carlos Gonzalez is our professional photographer and only photographer we let in the park. Feel free to take your own pictures, but only photograph others with their consent.
Video of a previous year's ride is available here:

* NUDITY *
The ride is "as bare as you dare". You can wear as much or as little as you think you can get away with. Go as bare as you dare, but DO NOT FIGHT THE POLICE! It puts the ride in jeopardy for future years. While none of us are happy about it, if you are asked to cover, cover for as long as you are in the presence of officers.
Many of us (myself included) have been getting bolder and bolder over the years, and many people undress in the park as soon as they arrive. So far the police have said nothing about this, but if they do challenge us one of these years, please comply. Please bring something to cover your bits in the park just in case. Although no one has ever been arrested, New Orleans is NOT a nude friendly city.
Sexual activity of any kind will not be tolerated and such persons will be ejected and banned from the ride.
Remember: This year's ride is about Bicycle Safety. Too many riders are being killed.
* SECURITY *
Only riders and support personnel are allowed in the assembly area. Volunteer security is provided in the assembly area to keep creepers and photographers out. The Security personnel are there to protect you, not to police you or hassle you. If someone at the park or on the ride is inappropriate please let security know at the time it happens. All Security people are also riders. If you would like to volunteer for the Security team, please follow the volunteer instructions in another post. On the day of the ride, all volunteers should report to Shannon Steele and follow her instructions.
* PARK RULES *
Please observe park rules in the assembly area. NO GLASS BOTTLES. Many riders are barefoot, and in previous years broken glass bottles have been a hazard. Please be considerate of your fellow riders. Please deposit trash in provided receptacles.
* RIDE DONATIONS *
The ride is "free", but costs money. You can make a donation at the ride, or use the handy link: https://www.worldnakedbikedridewnbrneworleans.org/donate
