NC Raga Revival is happy to announce our 8th World Music Jam 11:30am -1pm on Sat June 27th
at
Nomadas Coffee
1105 S Roxboro St
Durham NC 27707
This Jam session is open to singers and instrumentalists of all levels. If you have an instrument that requires amplication please bring an amp. If you perform seated on the floor please bring a Yoga mat .
This months Jam is hosted by
Andrew Shakinovsky and Malhar Sapre
Andrew Shakinovsky is a musician who plays oud (middle-eastern lute) in a local band Lost Nomads which has been active in the area for over
15 years. He experiments and records with a variety of world instruments as part of his Afrit Temple project, and also plays hurdy-gurdy in the live incarnation of the same.
Malhar Sapre was born and raised in India, where his early passion for music began. After completing his undergraduate studies at Virginia Tech, he moved to the RDU area in 2019 and has been working as an engineer at MetLife. Malhar is an avid guitarist and has explored a wide range of styles including western classical, rock, and jazz. In recent years, he has expanded his musical journey by studying sitar under VW Chitnis.
