Celebrate the wonders of migration at our Migratory Bird Day event! Join us at Bacon Creek Park for a day filled with discovery, conservation, and family-friendly fun. Guided birdwatching hikes will help you spot and learn about the incredible species passing through our area, while hands-on activities will keep kids engaged and inspired by the natural world. Pitch in to protect bird habitats by participating in a park-wide trash cleanup, and connect with local environmental organizations sharing resources, expertise, and ways to get involved. Whether you're an experienced birder or just curious, this event is a great way to appreciate and support our local birds.This event is sponsored by the Loess Hills Audubon Society, Woodbury County Conservation, The Loess Hills Wild Ones, the NW Iowa Chapter of the Sierra Club, the Sioux City Public Library, and Sioux City Parks and Rec.
· Bird Walks at 8:00 am, 10:00 am and 12 noon – led by Local Bird Experts Bill, Rex and Tucker
· Mindful Birding at 9:00 am with Kari Sandage
· Storytime at 10:30 am with the Sioux City Public Library
· Used Fishing Line Recycling Bin Talk and Walk at 11:00 am – Kevin
· Storytime at 11:15 am with the Sioux City Public Library
· Birding Reflections at 1:00 pm with Sharon Polifka
· Park Clean-up & Recycling at 2:00 pm
· Children's activities – Bird Games, Bird Bingo and Crafts throughout the day.
