About this Event

Meet Joseph Coelho – poet, author and former Children’s Laureate – for this session about his highly anticipated primary-age poetry collection Rapunzel is a Lettuce to celebrate World Book Day. Beginning with shorter, simpler poems and progressing gradually to more challenging verses, using many different forms, this is a poetry book that children can grow with. It’s full of fantastic poems that are perfect for reading out loud and sharing in class as well as at home.

Joseph Coelho, poet and playwright, is a leading figure in performance poetry. His plays have received special note from The Verity Bargate Award and The Bruntwood Playwriting Competition. Joseph has been a guest poet on Radio 4’s Front Row and performed poems for Channel 4 and CBeebies Radio. His debut poetry collection Werewolf Club Rules won the CLPE CLiPPA Poetry Award 2015.

Suitable for ages 4 – 11. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
