On May 9, join us in the Irene W. Pennington Planetarium for an unforgettable, one-night-only performance.Experience a captivating fusion of dance and astronomy as performers use a variety of belly dance styles to tell the story of time—from the Big Bang to the distant future. Set beneath stunning fulldome visuals, this immersive show takes audiences on a journey through the evolution of space, humanity, and the cosmos.
Step into the planetarium like a time-traveling TARDIS and let dancers guide you through the rhythms of creation and beyond. Along the way, explore humanity’s achievements and our connection to the stars through movement, music, and visual storytelling. Guests are encouraged to dress in attire inspired by their favorite time period.
The performance features a vibrant lineup of troupes from across Louisiana, including Ditallu, Shakshuka, Crescent Lotus, Shimmy Peppers, Habibi Hips, and Mayuri, along with many others. The evening will also include a special guest appearance by world-renowned dancer Tamalyn Dallal.
This one-of-a-kind event blends the rich traditions of belly dance with dynamic celestial backdrops, creating a truly unique cultural experience.
