Back by popular demand! Sashay into the fierce, often glamorous, and always fabulous world of drag queens and kings. Join local artists Hexe Noire and Baby Butcher for an afternoon of drag makeup extravaganza. Come learn the basics of drag queen or king makeup, from blocking brows, applying lashes, and adding the sparkle to make the whole fantasy come alive. No makeup experience needed! This event is open to all genders, to anyone who wants to give drag makeup a try for the day or to learn some new skills that can be utilized to experiment at home.

ABOUT WORKWEEKEND:
Welcome to Industry’s WorkWeekend, three days of workshops and events designed to empower Hamilton artists to do the work they want to do. WorkWeekend is open to adult artists of all career levels, from emerging to established and beyond. Free snacks and coffee also provided!

ABOUT HEXE NOIRE
Hexe Noire, a popular drag queen performer, has been showcasing her work in Hamilton for the last 6 years. Through her experience and accolades, she has made an impressive name for herself regionally. Ms. Noire is acting “Mother” to Hamilton’s drag house called “Haus of Noire,” founded in 2018. She has won diamond level awards from Hamilton Community Votes and The Spectator for best local artist. She has worked with a number of RuPaul drag queens.
As a queer woman and mother to four amazing biological children, Ms. Noire understands the importance of community support. She works diligently in our local communities by hosting library drag story time events. She has worked with Indigo, Hamilton, Burlington and Branford public libraries. She has also provided family-friendly drag performance programming through her contributions to AGH (Art Gallery Hamilton) Fringe Festival, Binbrook Pride, Hamilton Winter Festival, Concession Street Festival, Super Crawl and others. Finally, Hexe is known for her work as a regular performer at Hamilton’s Hearty Holliagn vegan restaurant and is frequently found performing or supporting local queer artists at Hamilton’s Fascination Dark DJ Night events.
ABOUT BAE B. BUTCHER
Bae B. Butcher is a highly celebrated drag king who has worked throughout Ontario and across international borders. He has worked within the community speaking up about trans rights at major events such as Trans Day of Remembrance in Hamilton, and within the Imperial Court. He was recognized as Ontario’s Drag King of the Year in 2023 at the Red Gala Awards. Bae B. has hosted all-king drag shows in London, Toronto, and Hamilton, giving recognition to kings across the province and works regularly with Doors Taco Bar and Metal Joint in Hamilton hosting alternative drag shows. He is currently finishing his diploma in makeup and mixed media at Sheridan College.
