About This Workshop: This workshop offers womxn writers a gentle, reflective space to explore memory as creative material and care practice. Participants will engage guided poetry prompts that invite reflection on the people, moments, identities, and inner worlds that have shaped them. Together, we will explore themes of care, survival, tenderness, grief, joy, and continuance. Centering the stories we carry but do not always perform. Writers will then translate their work into a small, handmade zine using accessible folding techniques. The zine functions as a soft archive: a tangible container for memory, emotional truth, and self-recognition. This workshop supports womxn writers by creating an artist-centered pause within the festival. One that prioritizes agency, self-trust, and creative rest. Rather than focusing on productivity or performance, the space affirms each participant’s right to engage their story on their own terms.

About the Phenomenal Womxn Festival: The Phenomenal Womxn Poetry Festival is a bold, empowering 3-day celebration of womxn and femme voices taking up space in Las Vegas. Featuring workshops, powerful panels, curated open mics, and the first-ever all-womxn regional poetry slam to hit the city. Poets across genres — page, stage, experimental, and everything in between — will gather in the heart of the Arts District, activating beloved local spaces like Third Street, Taverna Costera, Suite 150, Analog Dope, and That Chapel. We’ll close the weekend with a special headlining performance from powerhouse poet Yesika Salgado, followed by an unforgettable final-stage slam where one poet will claim $3,000 and the title of 2026 Phenomenal Womxn Champion.
