Shodo: Japanese Caligraphy Workshopwith Meiko FuijiOctober 25, 2024
2:00pm - 3:30pm
Discover the elegance and mindfulness of Japanese art with a special Shodo workshop led by visiting artist Meiko Fujii! Shodo, the traditional Japanese art of calligraphy, captures the beauty of brush and ink through graceful strokes and expressive forms, creating both words and art in a single motion.
In this immersive workshop, participants will explore the fundamentals of Shodo, using tools such as ink, brush, and washi paper. Guided by Fujii-sensei, students will learn how to create harmonious compositions of Japanese characters, combining technique with personal expression. Whether you're familiar with calligraphy or completely new to it, this workshop will offer a hands-on experience in crafting serene and powerful works of art.
This workshop is brought to you through collaboration with the Japanese Cultural Center.
