Not only does this workshop provide information and tools, but it puts like-minded individuals together to exchange thoughts and ideas. It is divided into three main parts:Part I.
An overview of the possibilities and potential pitfalls of writing personal and community histories. Topics include: Print as compared to digital recordings, types of writing services such as Storybook self-publishing pros, cons, and costs; technologies and tools that can assist the researcher. (Scanners, voice to text and transcribing apps).
Part II.
A look at genealogy-related approaches and databases. Samples of questionnaires that you can use to gather information.
Part III.
Closing thoughts on the benefits of doing such a project and samples of what others have done.
