This Skillshare will explains how recent court developments (Kwong v. United States) may impact taxpayers who were charged penalties or interest during the COVID-19 period (2019 -2022 tax returns).

The session will walk through how to review your IRS account transcripts and identify potential eligibility to file a protective claim before the deadline of July 10, 2026.

Itinerary

• 1:00 pm to 1:30 pm Explaining the KWONG Decision, what steps and forms are needed and Q&A
• 1:30 pm to 2:00 pm- Assist participants with opening an ID.me account on the IRS website account (for those who need it), how to access their Account Transcripts, and how to read them.
• 2:15 pm - 3:15 pm: Available to assist with one-on-ones and/or schedule appointments for those who need more assistance
