Botanical Printmaking: Nature as a MuseInstructor: Bryant Whelan

Time: 10 am - 4 pm
Using plant matter gathered on the ESAC property, students will learn multiple imaging techniques to inform their artistic practice. Day one will jump-start with Botanic Ecoprinting, a methodology whereby flora and plant life imprint on paper in a heat process. Students will also create fugitive anthotype sun prints of plant matter on paper using plant and berry emulsions.
Plants will also be photographed and image transfer techniques will be explored to imprint imagery onto the botanic ecoprints and anthotypes. Additional color embellishment will also be explored. Finally, students will create a small concertina handmade book of their prints.
Price: $375 ($350 for ESAC Members) + $25 Supply Fee
