Celebrate the beauty of fall with an afternoon of painting, creativity, and inspiration from van Gogh at North Haven Gardens!

Join artist and educator Melanie M. Brannan as we explore Vincent van Gogh's brilliant The Mulberry Tree, painted in the fall of 1889. With its glowing autumn colors, swirling movement, and bold, energetic brushstrokes, this masterpiece is the perfect inspiration for a relaxing autumn afternoon.

Melanie will guide you step-by-step as you create your own 12" x 16" canvas inspired by van Gogh' s famous painting. Using both fluid and heavy-body acrylic paints, we'll explore his complementary color palette, expressive brushwork, color theory, and creative process- and discover how to bring that wonderful van Gogh energy to your own painting.

All skill levels are welcome, from curious beginners to experienced artists. All supplies are provided, so simply come ready to relax, paint, and enjoy the afternoon with us!

$85. All supplies are included. To give everyone plenty of personal attention and one-on-one instruction, this workshop is limited to just 18 participants. Please arrive by 1:00pm to choose your seat, get settled, and purchase your drinks. Painting instruction begins promptly at 1:30!

Melanie Montgomery Brannan lives in her paintings, moving around and getting lost in a serene place. With her creative talent, she captures emotions on canvas as her paintings evolve through her own personal perspective. Influenced by light, clouds and reflections, she uses layers upon layers to create a great deal of depth and movement. Colors and perception beautifully touch her work. Melanie paints with her heart as much as her brush. Her favorite style of art is impressionism, with Cezanne and Van Gogh among her favorite artists.

Her paintings are in homes in Texas, New Mexico, California, Alaska, Oregon, South Dakota, South Carolina, Ireland and Germany. Melanie moved to fine art and teaching after a long, prolific career in graphic design owning her own firm for 30 years. She has devoted collectors across the country .
