------------------------------
The LEVEL UP program is open to Scenic Rim Artists who are interested in extending their individual professional practice.
One of the key aims of this workshop is to raise the level of professionalism for each attending artist through undergoing a curated process. The workshop will be an intense, dynamic and collaborative session. It is designed to develop a strong proposal for a group exhibition overseen and assessed by well-known curator, Michael Wardell.
This workshop is for established Scenic Rim Artists to develop a proposal to exhibit professionally and will include:
• Meet and greet: sharing our arts background and why we are attending this session.
• What is our story? What resonance do TM artists have with an audience in Brisbane?
• What is the appeal of our art? What is the “spirit of the mountain”?
• How does our art connect us in a group dynamic?
• Brainstorming session exploring themes and stories, and how to build a cohesive body of work.
On completion of attending this session, each artist can apply to exhibit in a TMAC initiated group exhibition in a Brisbane gallery or as part of a curated group exhibition on Tamborine Mountain during the 2025 TMArts Trail.
The application process will be specifically developed to guide attendees through the various steps to professionally exhibit a body of work. Each application will be assessed by Michael Wardell with his expertise in curation and the selected artists will be given further administrative and promotional support by TMAC to participate in an exhibition.
