About this Event
Working with suicidal clients can be challenging, join our half day workshop on Saturday 18th April, to gain more understanding and confidence to approach this difficult subject area in a calm and professional way while supporting clients.
This training is aligned with NHS England guidance, BACP good practice and draws on years of experience from both counsellors and supervisors.
Aims of suicidal clients training-
- Understand moral, ethical and legal perspectives
- Understand factors which will help support you to work with clients
- To feel confident that you have the knowledge around available tools, resources and support.
- To feel more confident to work with suicidal clients.
Objectives-
- Be clear on the terminology used and also how clients may describe feelings.
- Know what resources and support is available for you and your clients.
- Know the law and understand different ethical and moral ideas around suicide.
- Know how to record information accurately relating to a client who expresses they want to take their own life.
- Be able to have open conversations about suicide.
