About this Event
This class will focus on the workflow of shooting with RAW files. We’ll cover techniques to take advantage of the expanded capabilities compared to JPG, processing the RAW files, and editing down a large collection of images to get a solid final collection.
Shooting RAW files instead of JPG may require upgrades in both software and hardware but if you’re looking for a way to level up your photography game, this is a great place to start. We will get into some basic functions of Adobe Photoshop and how you can use other Adobe tools to clean up images and fix small problems and removing distractions efficiently.
Topics covered:
- Good habits for shooting projects (portraits, weddings, editorial, etc.)
- RAW file processing
- Analyzing your histogram
- Editing and retouching
- Pros and cons of using AI in retouching
Recommended: - Basic familiarity with exposure settings (aperture, shutter speed, ISO, exposure compensation)
- Laptop or tablet with image editing software (e.g. Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, or Bridge with Adobe Camera RAW)
- Any camera with the ability to shoot RAW files
- Memory card reader or cable to download photos from your camera
The class will be held in the upstairs of an old building with no elevator. If you have mobility issues, please reach out before you sign up. We have a solution but I’ll send you details first.
