Working with Autistic Clients in Therapy
About this Event
Working with Autistic Clients in Therapy
Join us for an informative and creative in-person training exploring how we can work thoughtfully and ethically with autistic clients in therapy.
Together, we'll consider how autism can shape a person's experience of themselves, their relationships and the world around them, and what this might mean for the therapeutic relationship. We'll explore some of the assumptions and misunderstandings that can arise when working with autistic clients, and think about how we can adapt our approach to ensure it is accessible and ethical.
There will be space to reflect on your own practice, share experiences and consider how to ensure our practice is responsive to the needs of autistic individuals. The training is intended to be accessible whether you have experience of working with autistic clients or are developing your confidence in this area.
We intentionally keep our training groups small to allow for plenty of space for discussion, reflection and participation.
